Andre Onana’s move to Manchester United is ‘only a matter of time’ according to reports in Italy.
Manchester United are in negotiations with Inter Milan over a deal to sign the Cameroon goalkeeper, as the Red Devils look to sign a new number one to replace David de Gea at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag previously managed Onana during his time in charge of Ajax and is keen to reunite with the 27-year-old in the Premier League.
Onana is viewed as an upgrade on De Gea in terms of distribution and comfortability in possession and is well-versed in Ten Hag’s demands to build from the back.
The goalkeeper impressed as Inter Milan reached the Champions League final last season, following his arrival from Ajax on a free transfer.
Inter are understood to value Onana at around €55m (£46m) including add-ons and an agreement is expected to be reached, with Sky Sports Italy claiming the shot-stopper’s move to the Premier League is ‘only a matter of time’.
Inter have began conducting their search for a potential replacement with Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer, PSG’s Keylor Navas and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin under consideration.
