West Ham defender Ogbonna ‘really happy’ for revitalised Perez and Snodgrass

West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna has spoken of his delight for teammates Lucas Perez and Robert Snodgrass after their recent upturn in form.

The Hammers made it two wins on the trot with their 3-1 victory over Cardiff City on Tuesday night and Ogbonna feels it was a big win for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

“I think we deserved this win. It was a very good victory for us. It was very important for us.’’ He told West Ham’s official website.

“It was a game that we had to step up in, and I think we did that. We concentrated from the beginning and we had the chances to go ahead. I’m really, really happy. I’m back in the squad and I’m playing my game like I used to.”

Unfortunately for West Ham, Marko Arnautovic went off injured after 40 minutes, although former Arsenal attacker Perez replaced the Austrian international and went on the score two goals for the home side.

“Lucas did well,” Ogbonna added. “He scored well, and I am really happy for him.

“Snoddy, as well, has been so fantastic for us. He put a great ball in the middle for the corner when Michail scored, and also for my header that the ‘keeper saved.”

West Ham welcome Crystal Palace to the London Stadium tomorrow.
