Odds slashed on Robin van Persie's next club

Robin van Persie could be heading back to the UK this summer following a disappointing season with Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig.

Van Persie moved to the Turkish club last summer after falling out of favour with Louis van Gaal at Manchester United, but never settled at the Istanbul club and keen for a move away.

Middlesbrough, West Ham, Crystal Palace and Stoke have all been linked with the striker over the last few weeks, but bookmakers have had to slash their odds on van Persie moving to the Scottish Premiership to play for newly promoted Rangers.

A series of rumours on social media provoked a large number of bets being placed on the former Arsenal striker moving to the Glasgow club.

We have looked into the claims of RVP being spotted at Ibrox, and as of yet have found no evidence of it so far.

The Dutchmans wages of around £5million-a-year could also be a huge sticking point for the club, but would also be a huge boost to their chances of lifting the Scottish title at the first attempt back in the top flight.
