After a very promising start to the season after their Premier League return, newly-promoted Wolves have now slumped to three defeats in a row.
Wolves’ manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, spoke during the week about how he will not be compromising his principles when it comes to how his team approaches games. Instead, Nuno believes his team’s level of performance needs to improve. He wants his side to keep doing what they’re doing but do it better.
“We reacted well from the bad performance against Watford, we didn’t achieve the result against Brighton or Tottenham but we performed well,” Nuno told his Friday press conference.
“We work to perform better and well and then we try to achieve the result. We don’t think about the result first – no matter what, it’s perform well, do your tasks and try to win.”
Nuno couldn’t fault his side for effort after their 3-2 defeat to Spurs last weekend but he feels his players can cut out a lot of mistakes to improve their overall performance.
“We chased the result against Tottenham and gave everything we could and there were a lot of positives but there were a lot of negatives. We have to improve.” He continued.
Wolves are currently 11th in the Premier League and face a very tough task on Sunday as they visit in-form Arsenal.
