Nicolo Savona is the one confirmed absentee, with the defender continuing his recovery from a knee injury. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Glasner said: “It’s just Nicolo Savona that is still out unfortunately. He’s had a few setbacks, so we’re progressing slowly, but he’s on track, and there is no pressure on him. So far he has reacted fine.” With Ola Aina and Daniel Munoz both fit at right-back, there is no need to rush Savona’s return.
Ibrahim Sangare is back in contention after being assessed following the draw with Tottenham, and will compete with James McAtee for a starting role in central midfield alongside Xaver Schlager. Munoz could be handed his first Forest start at right wing-back ahead of Aina, while Callum Hudson-Odoi, Igor Jesus and Chris Wood are all pushing for involvement in an attack that has scored only twice in four matches this season. Glasner described his squad depth as strong across the pitch, saying “every position is occupied by two players.”
