Arsenal have reached no agreement with either Benjamin Sesko or RB Leipzig over the transfer of the forward despite ongoing talks.

Sesko is the leading target for the Gunners as the club look to sign a centre-forward. Arsenal failed with an approach to sign the Slovenia international last summer and have returned with a renewed approach.

The North Londoners remain in negotiations with both Sesko’s representatives and RB Leipzig over a transfer but are yet to reach any agreements.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that no agreements have been finalised, regarding either personal terms or a transfer fee.

The lack of progress comes despite interest from Sesko in the move and Leipzig’s stance on his future. Sesko has a release clause of around €80m (£68.3m) and is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Leipzig are also prepared to sell the 22-year-old at the right price. The decision comes after the German side failed to secure European football for next season.

This week, the player’s agent Elvis Basanovic discussed the ongoing speculation surrounding a move to Arsenal. He said Sesko’s camp have a ‘clear plan’ for the player’s future but will not force a route out of Leipzig.

“We have clear plan. We will never force or blackmail Leipzig. We do things in right way or don’t do them. Sesko will only leave for a special club and project”.

Sesko scored 21 goals in all competitions for Leipzig last season and has netted 16 times in 41 caps for Slovenia at international level.

He is one of two forwards under consideration at Arsenal this summer. Discussions have also been held regarding Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
