Antonio Nusa has revealed that he held talks with Chelsea about a potential move to the Premier League side during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea were once again the heaviest spending side in Europe after investing more than £400m into the squad during the summer, with the Blues having focused on securing emerging talent.
Nusa is understood to have been a transfer target for the west Londoners following his breakthrough at Club Brugge, where the 18-year-old became the the youngest player to score on his debut in the Champions League against Porto in September 2022.
Nusa, who has received his first call up to the Norwegian national side for this month’s international fixtures, has revealed that Chelsea approached him about a potential move to the club, but that he turned down ‘a lot of money’ to focus on his development.
“We had a new talk when the money came but I knew what to do,” Nusa told Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada.
“A lot of money… but I can’t focus on that. I want to really think through my next step, what’s right for me.”
