Nigeria will take on Guinea-Bissau in their second match of the Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign on Tuesday at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro.
The Super Eagles go into the fixture with plenty of confidence after securing a difficult 2-1 comeback win against Madagascar in Uyo last Friday. Since Eric Chelle took charge, Nigeria have shown good tactical strength throughout 2026. They have also responded positively after an inconsistent run in earlier friendly matches, recording a 2-1 victory over Iran and a 3-0 success against Jamaica before suffering a narrow 2-1 loss to Portugal. Nigeria are currently second in Group L and will be aiming to claim back-to-back victories.

Nigeria are dealing with a serious injury problem in attack before this important 2027 AFCON Group L qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.
Victor Osimhen has already been ruled out, and interim manager Eric Chelle now has more difficult decisions to make.
George Ilenikhena, who scored during his international debut against Madagascar, and forward Akor Adams are both major doubts after sustaining injuries in last week’s 2-1 win. Neither player took part in Sunday’s training session.
With Ilenikhena and Adams potentially unavailable, Coventry City striker Taiwo Awoniyi and Tolu Arokodare are the leading candidates to start as Nigeria’s central forward.
On the wings, Moses Usor and experienced attacker Moses Simon are expected to carry much of the team’s attacking responsibility. In the middle of the pitch, Raphael Onyedika is pushing to partner Wilfred Ndidi, with his inclusion likely to provide Nigeria with extra defensive protection.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali remains the clear first-choice option between the posts.
