The 22-year-old has had another impressive campaign, scoring 11 times and providing seven assists. His performances have helped Athletic into the Champions League places in La Liga, alongside reaching the Europa League semi-finals. The Spanish side will take on Manchester United in their bid to reach the decider. The final will be staged at Athletic’s home stadium.
This season, he ranks among La Liga’s leading players for successful take-ons (5th), progressive carries (6th) and shot-creating actions (8th).
Williams has a release clause of €58m (£49m) in his contract, a figure several sides are considering meeting. Arsenal are understood to have tracked his progress, while Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Barcelona have all been named as potential destinations.
However, Williams is in no rush to leave Athletic and GiveMeSport are reporting that the winger remains undecided on his future.
