Newcastle United will look to make it back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time under Matthias Jaissle when Bournemouth visits St. James’ Park on Saturday.

Jaissle’s side head into the weekend full of confidence following a 2-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur and a run to the third round of the EFL Cup, but the head coach has stressed that Newcastle’s approach “is independent of the opponent” as he continues to embed his high-intensity style at St James’ Park.

Newcastle will again be without four first-team players: captain Dan Burn (ankle), William Osula (foot), Joelinton (thigh) and Tino Livramento (calf) all remain sidelined through injury. There is no fresh fitness concern beyond that quartet heading into the weekend.
Deadline-day signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo is available for the first time after his £51m move from Lille, but Jaissle has suggested the Belgian will be introduced from the bench rather than given an immediate start. That means Anthony Elanga, Yoane Wissa and Harvey Barnes are all set to continue in attack, with Elanga chasing a third goal in as many league games this season.
Nico Gonzalez, who impressed on his debut at Tottenham, is expected to retain his place in central midfield alongside Lewis Miley and Joe Willock, with the back four of Amar Dedic, Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman and Lewis Hall also unchanged.
