Newcastle United eye up Premier League trio as potential new owners ready to give Benitez £100m

Newcastle United have lined up an ambitious Premier League triple swoop ahead of a potential £300m takeover of the club.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, investment group PCP Partners have tabled an initial £300m bid and have opened talks with the club, which was put up for sale by current owner, Mike Ashley, earlier this month.

PCP Partners, led by Amanda Staveley, have already signed a non disclosure agreement with the club as talks progress, with the investors hopeful that a deal can be concluded in December, ahead of the January transfer market, where the club have some ambitious plans.

According to the Daily Star, three Premier League stars are being eyed up by the potential new owners to be targeted in that transfer window, with Rafa Benitez set to be handed a £100m Transfer kitty.

The article claims that during the meeting, three established Premier League stars have been linked as potential targets.

Everton midfielder Ross Barkley was known to be unhappy, and was thought to be close to a move to Chelsea in the summer, put pulled out of a £30m deal on Deadline Day. Newcastle are now thought to be ready to pounce, although whether the sacking of Ronald Koeman will be enough to get him to sign a new deal at Goodison Park is yet to be seen.

Another player discussed in the meeting is Manchester United’s Luke Shaw. The former Southampton left back has had a difficult time at United, especially under Jose Mourinho, and has played just 48 minutes of football this season out of the 14 games the club have played. He has been linked with a move away, speaking publicly about his desire to play under Mauricio Pochettino again in the future.

Former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll was also thought to have been mentioned in the meeting, with the investors wanting to bring the former number nine back to St James’ Park after seven years away from the club.

It is also claimed Benitez is interested in Real Madrid legend, Iker Casillas.
