Newcastle are interested in Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, dubbed ‘the new Paul Pogba’.
The 20-year-old is attracting interest from several side’s across Europe, despite having only played a bit-part role in Lille’s campaign so far this season.
The central-midfielder is yet to start a league game for the French club, but has impressed when given the opportunity in cup competitions.
Newcastle are believed to have had a January bid rejected for Soumare, who is a graduate of the PSG academy, whilst the Daily Star are also reporting that Manchester City had an offer in the region of £22m rebuffed by Lille last year.
Tottenham and Italian giants Juventus have also been credited with an interest, with scouts from both club’s having watched Soumare in action for the French U-20 side.
Lille would be unwilling the allow the young midfielder to leave on the cheap, but are preparing themselves for interest as the summer transfer window approaches.
