Newcastle set to sign Premier League trio

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is interested in signing players from Premier League rivals Chelsea, West Ham and Liverpool, according to reports in The Mirror and Telegraph.

The North East sides’ front men have struggled to find the net with consistency this season and Benitez wants to take Danny Ings from his former club Liverpool to help remedy this issue, the 25-year-old has had a torrid time with injury since moving to Anfield from Burnley in 2015, and is thought to be available on a loan deal until next summer.

Newcastle also want to strengthen their options at left-back and left midfield by signing Brazilian Kenedy from Chelsea. The 21-year-old was heavily linked with a move to St James Park during the summer window although it seems all parties are open to pushing the deal through this time around.

Finally, The Geordies also want to upgrade their options between the sticks with Karl Darlow and Rob Elliot both looking a little short of the level required to thrive in the Premier League. Benitez was interested in signing Joe Hart in the summer before he moved to West Ham on loan from parent club Manchester City.

The 30-year-old England international has recently lost his place to Adrian and would be interested in moving North in order to secure first-team football ahead of next year’s World Cup in Russia, any move of course would be dependent on Man City giving there consent.

Newcastle have looked woefully short of quality over the last few months so it comes as no surprise that they are being linked with a trio of players with Premier League experience.
