Newcastle United are plotting a sensational move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
Rafael Benitez is already making plans for their Premier League return next season and has identified the Belgian as a potential option to strengthen his strike force.
Newcastle were promoted from the Championship after overhauling Brighton’s lead at the top of the table in the last minutes of the season.
Despite having in-form striker Dwight Gayle at the club, Benitez is looking at adding Batshuayi to his striking options.
The Daily Mirror claim that former Liverpool and Real Madrid manager Benitez will make a loan move for Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi moved to the Premier League just last summer, making a £33m move from Marseille. However he failed to break into the Chelsea first team, making just 27 appearances for the Blues all season, mostly from the bench.
Despite his limited game time, he became one of the unlikeliest of heros for Chelsea when his late goal against West Brom saw the Blues reclaim the Premier League title.
He then followed that up with three more goals in the following two games.
West Ham are also believed to be interested in Batshuayi.
Newcastle are expected to make Chelsea winger Christian Atsu their first signing of the summer, to kick start a £70m-£100m summer spending spree.
