Newcastle have joined the increasing list of clubs interested in signing Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy during the January transfer window.
Guirassy has emerged as one of the most talked about talents in European football this season after an explosive start to the Bundesliga campaign, with only Harry Kane having outscored the 27-year-old across Europe’s top five leagues in 2023/24.
Guirassy has scored 15 goals in just nine league games for Stuttgart, propelling the German side from relegation candidates to Champions League contenders.
His form – and a reported release clause of just €17.5m (£15.2m) – has alerted a long list of clubs and the Chronicle are reporting that Newcastle are now among his suitors.
Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson’s fitness concerns have led to centre-forward additions being considered as the Magpies look to boost their injury-hit squad in the January transfer window. Though Newcastle have had a selection headache when choosing between that duo when fit, the club remain keen to bring in additional competition and Guirassy fits the bill.
Tottenham, West Ham, Brentford, Fulham and Manchester United have also been linked with the Guinea international, who has now scored 30 goals in 38 games for Stuttgart in all competitions since arriving on an initial loan deal from Rennes in 2022/23.
