He may have only joined the club on transfer deadline day back in August, but Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is ready to consider his future at the club after a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge.
The midfielder followed in the footsteps of N’Golo Kante by swapping Leicester City for Chelsea, with many hoping the duo could rekindle their partnership that helped take the Foxes to the most sensational of Premier League title wins in 2016.
However, since swapping the King Power for Stamford Bridge just over seven months ago, Drinkwater has endured a challenging season, suffering a series of injuries which have limited him to just five league starts for the Blues.
His last appearance came in the defeat at Manchester City more than five weeks ago and it seems as though he as the back of the pecking order, with N’Golo Kanté, Cesc Fàbregas and Tiémoué Bakayoko all ahead of the 28-year-old in Antonio Conte’s plans.
According to the Guardian, he is set to consider his future in the coming weeks and is expected to leave he club.
This speculation is not helped by the fact that Chelsea have been linked with a move for Nice midfielder Jean-Michel Seri.
