Manchester United are a ‘million miles’ behind Arsenal and Tottenham with Jose Mourinho’s side facing a battle to qualify for Europe this season.
That’s according to club-legend Gary Neville who believes his former side have fallen behind their rivals and face a huge task in their bid for Champions League qualification.
Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Southampton left the club in 7th place in the Premier League, eight points off 4th-placed Arsenal in the race for the top four.
Neville believes United have left themselves a mountain to climb and told Sky Sports: “If you are Manchester United, where are you at? Watching them on Saturday against Southampton they look a million miles away from that [Arsenal and Tottenham].
“United are in a massive battle to get into the top four, even the Europa League places at the moment.”
Manchester United have a chance to close the gap on the Premier League’s top four when they host Arsenal at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
