Gary Neville believes Manchester City retaining their Premier League title would be ‘incredible’.
Pep Guardiola’s side won the league title last season in convincing fashion, setting a Premier League record for most wins in a season and becoming the first side to achieve 100 points.
City are currently vying to become champions with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, with just two points separating the sides ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, and former England international Neville believes retaining the title would be a ‘far bigger achievement’ than last season’s success.
“For Pep Guardiola, he wants to create history,” Neville told Sky Sports.
”The way Liverpool have performed this season, this would be a far bigger achievement this year to win the league, than last year.
”As incredible as what City did last year was, to win it this time, back to back, do it a second time, against a Liverpool side performing as they are would be incredible,”
“For Liverpool to beat a City side performing as they are, would be astonishing.”
