Nemanja Matic wants Chelsea exit sorted within 48 hours

Nemanja Matic wants his exit from Chelsea sorted out within the next 48 hours according to reports today.

The Serbian midfielder has been strongly linked with the second Stamford Bridge exit of his career, as Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus have all been linked with his services.

Chelsea are unhappy to do business with either of their Premier League rivals, and would prefer the midfielder to move to Juventus, but the player himself wants to be reunited with former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Matic, alongside striker Diego Costa, has been left out of the club’s pre season tour of Asia in order to finalise a transfer away. The arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko, who was confirmed as a Chelsea player on Saturday, could help to expedite the 28-year-old’s departure.

According to the Sun, Matic has told Chelsea officials that he wants to have his future sorted out within the next 48 hours.

Speaking at a news conference in LA on Friday, Mourinho said:

“I can’t say any word about a player who is a Chelsea player, it’s the same with Morata, we have to respect the player, the club, the owner, the manager.

“I don’t want to be disrespectful.”

“We need two more players I would say, at least one but I don’t want to say Matic or any other name because I don’t think it’s correct.”

It is believed that Juventus are prepared to offer the midfielder a £125,000-a-week deal to move to Turin, while Manchester United have offered £150,000-a-week.
