Napoli have submitted an offer of £15M for Chelsea centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
The Serie A club are looking to strengthen their defence after Alessandro Buongiorno underwent knee surgery, with the centre-back not expected back until the autumn. Fellow defender Sam Beukema has also struggled with Achilles tendon issues.
According to Italian journalist Raffaele Auriemma, Napoli have now lodged a first bid for Badiahile.
The French defender is free to leave Chelsea this summer for the right fee, after struggling to establish himself in West London. Badiashile has made only 24 league starts for Chelsea since his arrival from AS Monaco in 2023.
The opening offer from Napoli is understood to fall below Chelsea’s valuation, with the Blues hoping to recoup around £30m for the defender.
Chelsea are also listening to offers for Trevoh Chalobah and Axel Disasi, with Como having had an opening bid rejected for the former. Disasi has suitors in the Premier League and Europe, having spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United.
