Napoli have joined Aston Villa in the race to sign Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson before the deadline.
The Italian side want to bring in another centre-forward and have put Jackson on their shortlist, with the Senegal international free to leave Chelsea.
Any deal would likely need to be a loan deal, with Chelsea having placed a £65m valuation on Jackson. Aston Villa are also keen on a deal, with Unai Emery having worked with Jackson at former club Villarreal. Villa’s interest comes as Saudi side Al-Hilal pursue a deal for Ollie Watkins.
Sky Italy are reporting that Jackson is one of several options Napoli are considering, following Romelu Lukaku’s exit and doubts over Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca. Napoli have also explored a deal to sign Gabriel Jesus for Arsenal, and Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee.
Jesus appears the most viable option, with Arsenal having set his price tag at around £18m. The 29-year-old has less than a year on his Arsenal contract and has fallen out of favour in North London.
