Mourinho sacked as Manchester United manager

Jose Mourinho has been sacked as Manchester United manager this morning after a terrible start to the season.

The Portuguese coach won the Europa League and the EFL Cup in his first season at Old Trafford after taking over the reigns from Louis Van Gaal in the summer of 2016.

However, this campaign has been a disaster for Mourinho with the Portuguese coach seemingly at loggerheads with his clubs board over transfer targets, and his relationship with several of his star players breaking down.

Manchester United currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League table a whopping 19 points away from arch rivals Liverpool and after a humiliating 3-1 defeat at Anfield last Sunday the decision has finally been made to relieve Mourinho of his duties.

United issued a statement today announcing that Mourinho was leaving the club with immediate effect and also confirmed that the club are planning to install an interim coach until the end of the season, before appointing a new long term manager at the of the campaign.
