Jose Mourinho has responded to the news that Anthony Martial has left Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The Manchester United number 11 has returned to Paris to attend the birth of his second child, despite some reports suggesting he had gone AWOL.

Martial has almost been guaranteed a place in the starting XI for the Premier League opener against Leicester on August 10, with Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard all out of action following their exploits at the World Cup.
His decision to leave pre-season training has left some speculating that Mourinho would be less than impressed. However, speaking after United’s epic penalty shootout victory over AC Milan in Los Angeles, the Portuguese has dispelled those rumours:
“I found out that Martial was going to Paris when he told me,” said Mourinho.
“Was two or three days ago. When it is personal reasons, everyone analyses that the way they think is the correct way.
“And when a man is going to be a father in this case, it’s the second time he is going to be a father.
“And he decides is very important for him to go, nobody has the right to stop him to go.”
Martial has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Spurs and Chelsea thought to be keen on his services.
