Jose Mourinho has refused the chance to have a whinge for once in his life, despite suggesting that he is ‘not in love’ with Young Boys’ plastic pitch.
The Manchester United boss rarely turns down the chance to have a moan these days, whether it be about transfers, referees or even his own players, there always seems to be something that irks the Portuguese.

However, with his United side in Switzerland for their Champions League opener against Young Boys, he refused to whinge about his stars having to play on a plastic pitch, citing Switzerland’s greatest ever Sportsman Roger Federer as an example of having to play on less than ideal surfaces:
“I can get as an example since we are in Switzerland, the home of one of the best ever tennis players – I’m pretty sure that the big man sometimes is not happy to play on such a surface but he has to play and he has to win,” Mourinho said in his pre-match press conference.
“Everybody knows he has a favourite surface, but he has also to win on other surfaces that he is not in love with.
“So we have to do it.”
