Jose Mourinho has questioned the attitude of Manchester United’s stars after they crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
Last season’s cup winners were huge favourites to win the quarter final tie at Ashton Gate, and with Manchester City racing away with the Premier League title, the League Cup presented itself as an excellent opportunity for the Red Devils to win more silverware this season.
The championship side took the lead early in the second half through a wonder strike from Joe Bryan before the returning Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled United level. However the drama was saved until the 93rd minute when Korey Smith controlled the ball well before slipping it past Sergio Romero in the United
Speaking in his post match interview with Sky Sports, Mourinho questioned the Man Utd team’s attitude towards the game:
“It was like another day in the office and for some of ours they probably didn’t even want to come into the office today.”
United have an opportunity to get back to winning ways with Saturday evenings Premier League fixture at Leicester City.
