Manchester United endured a frustrating afternoon as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
There was more bad news for Jose Mourinho, however, as defender Victor Lindelof suffered what looked like a groin injury during the latter stages of the game, although with all of United’s changes made, the Swedish defender soldiered on impressively until the end.
Asked if Lindelof is injured will miss Manchester United‘s Champions League tie against Young Boys on Tuesday, Mourinho told MUTV: “I believe so. I have to believe so. I always say that this is the period of the injuries.
”When they are not injured in the national team, they come to the clubs and they are injured in the clubs and he played against Russia three days ago or two days ago and, of course, we need him and he played and he was probably the best player of the team.
“He was a brave guy, probably punishing himself, who knows, for how long he will be out, but a fantastic example.”
Today’s draw leaves United 7th in the league, a point behind Everton and just ahead of Bournemouth who play tomorrow.
