Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Paul Pogba has the potential to become a fantastic player.
Mourinho’s strained relationship with his £89 million midfielder has dominated the headlines all season and the France international has found himself on the substitutes bench for United’s last two Premier League games.
However, Mourinho clearly still sees the massive potential 25-year-old former Juventus man has, even if in typical fashion the Portuguese coach emphasised the words ‘can be,’ when speaking about his midfielders ability.
Manchester United will face Valencia away on Wednesday night in the Champions League, having already qualified for the knockout stages.
Mourinho has revealed that Pogba will be reinstated into his starting XI and will have the opportunity to showcase his talent.
“Paul can be a fantastic player, he has the potential to be a fantastic player,” Mourinho told the press after Saturday’s win over Fulham.
“Against Valencia, he is going to start and have a fantastic football game to play and to show everybody how good he is.”
United’s next Premier League fixture will be at Anfield against arch rivals Liverpool next Sunday.
