Mourinho: Hazard has the ‘talent’ and ‘personality’ to play for Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho has said that Chelsea star Eden Hazard has the capability to play for Real Madrid amid persistent rumours that the Belgian is set to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Hazard has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Bernabeu over the years, but a move is looking more likely than ever after the Blues attacker admitted earlier this month that he has already made a decision on his future.

Few people in the world are in as good a position as Jose Mourinho when it comes to judging whether or not a player has what it takes to make it at Real Madrid, with the Portuguese having managed Los Blancos in the past as well as working with Hazard for two-and-a-half years during his time as Chelsea manager.

Mourinho says the attacking wizard has the necessary skill and talent to be a success in the Spanish capital, as well as the mentality to withstand the pressure of playing such a big club.

“Eden’s ambition is to either stay at Chelsea for the rest of his career or to move to a giant club like Real Madrid,” Mourinho told DAZN Espana.

“I can’t tell you [what way he will decide] as it’s been a while since I’ve spoken to him.

“But let’s talk about talent: Does he has the talent to play for Real Madrid? He does.

“Does he have the personality to put on a ‘heavy’ shirt and play in front of the fans at the Bernabeu? Yes, he has the personality.”
