Mourinho hails Sanchez’s ‘maturity and class’

Alexis Sanchez got his Manchester United career off to a cracking start last night as the Chile international put in a man of the match performance in his sides 4-0 FA Cup fourth round victory over Yeovil at Huish Park.

Speaking after the game Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho was full of praise for his new recruit, and was particularly impressed with his assist for Ander Herrera’s goal:

“His choice for the second goal is a choice that a player like Marcus Rashford is too nervous to make that kind of decision. He brings maturity and class.”

Yeovil put their illustrious visitors under plenty of pressure early in the game, but Marcus Rashford put United ahead with a opportunistic finish just before half-time and the 12 time FA Cup winners controlled the game from then on.

Herrera added a second with a tidy left foot finish on the hour mark, before substitutes Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku struck late on to put the tie to bed.

Sanchez played on the left last night, and brought plenty of energy and ingenuity to United’s attack. The Old Trafford club travel to Wembley to take on Spurs next Wednesday in the Premier League, and they will be hopeful that their new star signing can continue to build on what was an encouraging start to his life as a United player.
