Despite his Manchester United side staging a fantastic comeback from 2-0 to win 3-2 in today’s Manchester Derby, Jose Mourinho was quick to congratulate his local rivals on their Premier League title victory, whenever it is eventually confirmed in the coming weeks.

A superb second-half showing by the Red’s denied Pep Guardiola’s men the chance to win the EPL crown in front of there own fans with a record breaking six games remaining this season.

However, City remain 13 points clear of second placed United and it is a mere formality that they seal the third Premier League title in their history over the coming weeks.

After the game Mourinho spoke to Sky Sports and he was full of praise for Pep Guardiola’s side and admitted that they deserve to be crowned Champions this season when he said:

“Our challenge is to finish second but I want to congratulate City for the title because they are going to win and deservedly. They gave no chance to the others because they had this season of don’t stop winning.

“My objective here was to get points and not spoil any celebrations.”
