Jose Mourinho thinks his Manchester United side should have scored six against a disappointing Burnley side, with the Portuguese describing some of his teams play as beautiful.
Having lost the last two games to Brighton and Tottenham, the pressure was on Manchester United to get a result at Turf Moor this afternoon. However, the 20-time champions comfortably dispatched the Clarets 2-0 to get their Premier League campaign back on track.
Romelu Lukaku’s brace was enough to take the points back to Old Trafford, leaving under fired manager Jose Mourinho to praise the team’s performance, but rue their missed chances.
“Everything pleased me,” Mourinho told MUTV. “The first 10 minutes were the mirror of the game. So fast, so creative, even I can say, so beautiful.
“But we lost three chances in the first 10 minutes and I think that was the mirror of the game.
“We managed to score two goals which was enough to win, but it should be two, three, four, five, six and we should have scored before we scored the goals, and we should have scored the penalty that would kill the game and also the best chances after the penalty.
“Even with 10 men, the team was really strong in every aspect of the game.”
