Mourinho admits Manchester United didn’t deserve more than a draw against Wolves

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho admitted that his side did not deserve more than a point from their home Premier League fixture against Wolves earlier today, a game that finished 1-1.

The Red Devils took the lead against the run of play in the 18th minute through £52 million summer signing Fred after a delightful layoff from Paul Pogba.

However, Wolves would equalise in the 53rd minute with a beautiful strike from the edge of the area from Portugal international Joao Moutinho.

After the game Manchester United manager Mourinho admitted his side had not been good enough to beat the newly promoted visitors and lamented the lack of creativity from his sides attacking players:

“I think the result is fair. They deserved their point and we deserve the punishment of only getting one point. They started better were more aggressive, had more intent and I don’t know why but they were more motivated,” Mourinho told BBC Sport.

“I was expecting more from my attacking players. There was not enough creativity, movement or dynamism.

“We made it quite easy for them to cope with our supremacy in last 20 minutes. Overall we don’t deserve more than this.

“Our performance was not consistent, not creative and not dynamic.

“The way we started we were lucky to be the first team to score. From a metal point of view their approach was more for a football match than ours.”
