Things has been going well for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho recently after a series of positive results for his side.
However, things took a bad turn for the worse for the Portuguese coach yesterday, as the Old Trafford club were embarrassingly dumped out of the Champions League by Sevilla and he was also slammed for taking a role as a leading pundit for Russian TV station RT ahead of next year’s World Cup.
Mourinho is reported to be pocketing a cool £1 million for just a five days work at the tournament.
However, Politician Chris Bryant has blasted the United manager’s decision to work for the controversial channel.
“To my mind, this is blood money, paid directly from the Russian state coffers,” The MP said.
RT has often been accused of Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s personal propaganda machine.
Several other leading managers like Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola have also come in for criticism in the past for backing the controversial Qatar 2022 World Cup bid, with reports suggesting the building of the Stadia for the tournament have resulted in severe human rights abuses.
