Morata: Chelsea ‘won’t be an obstacle’ if Real Madrid come calling for Hazard

Alvaro Morata does not think that Chelsea’s desire to keep Eden Hazard at the club will be any great obstacle if Real Madrid decide to go after him.

Hazard has once again described a potential move to Real Madrid as a dream, after a much rumoured move to the Bernabeu never materialised this summer, despite the European champions banking £100 million from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The mercurial Belgian has been showcasing his impressive array of talents so far this season, netting seven times and providing three assists already in just eight appearances for the Blues, with only six of those being starts.

His current Chelsea teammate, and former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata reckons that while Hazard has always maintained that he is happy at Stamford Bridge, the club would be powerless to stop him making that dream move to the Spanish capital.

“You can play him in any position,” Morata said in an interview with Depotes Cuatro.

“And if he has said it that clearly [he wants to play for Real], then that’s the way it is.

“We’ve said that it’s not that he wants to leave Chelsea but if Madrid come in for him, that won’t be an obstacle.

“The thing is that he has a very good relationship with the club, he’s happy there and it’s not like other cases when a player wants to leave a club at any cost.

“But if it’s good for Chelsea they will keep that in mind.”
