Kudus set for West Ham medical after Ajax agreement reached

Mohammed Kudus will undergo a medical with West Ham this weekend after the club reached a verbal agreement with Ajax for the forward.

West Ham have agreed a fee worth €45m including add-ons for the Ghana international, who has been tracked extensively by a number of Premier League clubs and came close to a move to Brighton earlier in the transfer window.

Chelsea are also understood to have held interest in the 23-year-old, who scored 18 goals in all competitions for Ajax last season.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Kudus is set to sign a five-year deal with the Hammers and represents a coup for new sporting director Tim Steidten, who has been tasked with rebuilding the side following the £105m sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

Kudus – who scored a hat-trick in Ajax’s 4-1 win at Ludogorets in the Europa League on Thursday evening – will become West Ham’s fourth major signing of the summer, following deals for Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos.

David Moyes is believed to be keen to add a centre-forward to his options before the deadline and the club have reportedly made an approach for Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
