Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s potential move to Arsenal is ‘a long way off’ according to his agent Mino Raiola.
Mkhitaryan only moved to Manchester United 18 months ago, completing a £22m move from Borussia Dortmund after being the best player in the Bundesliga in the previous season.
Despite an impressive start to the season where he racked up five assists in four appearance, he has recently been dropped from the lineup with the Armenian starting just 11 League games this season.
He has been included as part of the deal to take sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, but his agent, Mino Raiola, has told Sky Sports News that a deal to take the 28-year-old to the Emirates is ‘a long way off’. He said:
“Sanchez is part of Mkhi’s deal. Not the other way around. Without him, Sanchez simply cannot go to United.
“Mkhi’s problems at Man Utd are purely related to playing football. He has no problem with the manager. It is not personal. And he has two-and-a-half years left on his contract. He doesn’t have to leave.
“At this moment [the chances of moving to Arsenal are] low, but life is dynamic.
“This is a great deal for Arsenal. They need better, younger players and they have to invest. So it’s up to Arsenal to put a deal in place and right now a deal is a long way off.”
