Milner reveals how Liverpool players still 'get a rocket' from 'leader' Klopp

James Milner has revealed how Liverpool players still ‘get a rocket’ from Jurgen Klopp should standards appear to be slipping at the club.

The Premier League leaders are now just two wins away from a long-awaited title following a record-breaking campaign thus far, Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth extending the club’s advantage at the top of the division to 25 points and setting a new top-flight record of 22 consecutive home wins.

Milner has revealed the club’s success has been built on retaining their high standards in each and every training session, with ‘leader’ Klopp the driving force behind ensuring the Reds continue their remarkable consistency.

“He is the leader of the ship and he has turned us into a fantastic team and he never lets us rest,” Milner said, as per Goal.

“We have to keep pushing and improving. If there is one day in training when it is not right you get a rocket and it is not good enough. But the boys are very good at that as well.

“The manager sets that tone and the boys are good at marshalling it. If someone misses a day in the gym or they are late for something or not pulling their weight they get pulled up on it.

“That is important as well but it starts with the manager.”
