James Milner has insisted that there is still a very long way to go in the Premier League title race.
Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League for a few hours at least with a comfortable 4-0 hammering of Bournemouth this afternoon and will be hoping Chelsea can help keep them there by beating Man City at Stamford Bridge later today.
The Merseyside club doesn’t have many players among their ranks with title-winning experience, but one man who does is veteran James Milner, who won two Premier League winners medals during his time at Man City, and he has tried to temper expectations among the fans by pointing out that there is still a long way to go in the title race.
“It is nice to see. It is where you want to be at the end of the season. There is a long way to go. We know how crucial Christmas is.”

Milner, who was making his 500th Premier League appearance, added right-back to the list of positions that he has played throughout his career, and he was asked about his opinion on playing in an unfamiliar position.
“It was different again but you do what’s required. It gives Trent [Alexander-Arnold] a little rest. It was nice to be a part of that performance and get another win on the road.”
