Luka Milivojevic says that his Crystal Palace team were deserving of their fantastic 3-2 win over Manchester City today.
Milivojevic scored what turned out to be the winning penalty as Crystal Palace held on for a memorable victory at the home of the current league champions.
“I am so happy and proud of the team. It’s a very special victory because they were champions last season and we know how difficult it is to play against them,” Milivojevic said.
“But when we score three goals we can say we deserved it.”
Roy Hodgson’s Palace team certainly did give as good as they got and only in terms of possession were they a long way off of City’s level.
Milivojevic has scored five goals (including four penalties) this season in his 18 starts for the Eagles, and the win today leaves Crystal Palace 14th in the Premier League, three points behind Brighton who are 13th.
Man City meanwhile will have to make do with second place on Christmas Day and today’s loss leaves them four points adrift of Liverpool at the top of the table.
