Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has publicly admitted that ‘it would be be a dream’ to play for Liverpool having had an impressive season with the Vicarage Road club.
The Frenchman has had an excellent season in the Premier League, which has seen him linked with virtually all of the Premier League’s top six clubs with The Football Faithful writer Peter Henry identifying the Hornets’ midfielder as a player with huge potential.
Despite links to Man Utd, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal, Doucoure has been specifically asked by Canal Plus about Liverpool’s interest in him.
He said: “Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction. I was impatient to play at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere.
“For me it would be a dream to play for a club like this.”
Not only has he showed up as one of the most industrious midfield players in the Premier League this season, but with seven goals Doucoure is also Watford’s leading scorer.
If Liverpool do strengthen their interest in the midfielder, he could ultimately be a replacement for Emre Can, who has been linked with a free transfer to either Bayern Munich or Juventus.
