Mesut Özil has been urged to reject a new contract at the Emirates and leave the club this summer.
The Sunday Mirror report that Özil’s Germany teammate Julian Draxler has urged him to leave Arsenal this summer and join him at Paris Saint-Germain.
Draxler himself has only recently arrived in the French capital, but is certain that if he could pick any of his German colleagues to join him, it would be the former Real Madrid playmaker.
Draxler said:
There is one German national team member I would like to see here. Mesut Özil.
He can play in any team in the world. So if he wants to come, he will be welcome from my side anyway.
Draxler himself has made an instant impact in Paris since his £34million transfer. He has netted four times in his first five games for the club.
Özil currently has less than 18-months on his current deal at Arsenal and has been stalling upon signing improved terms so far. This news will do little to allay Arsenal fans fears that one of their prized assets could quit the club.
