PSG star Kylian Mbappe has revealed that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is the one player he would like his club to sign more than any other.
The 19-year-old attacker joined the Ligue Un Champions from Monaco last summer and has made a solid start to life in Paris scoring 13 goals and providing 9 assists in 25 games, as the Qatari owned club once again romped to the French league title.
He believes his international team-mate Kante would be the perfect signing for his side and that the Chelsea star would also help raise the profile of French football, as well as being be hugely popular with fans of the domestic game.
“Kante is the one player I would like at PSG, according to our needs and also the quality of the player,” Mbappe told beIN Sports.
“I think he’s a player that would suit our team perfectly. He is French; to bring back a Frenchman for the attractiveness of our championship would be good.
“I think all the French like N’Golo Kante, and it would be a pleasure to have him in our league.”
However, it seems unlikely Mbappe’s wish will become a reality as Kante has previously stated that he has no desire to return to his homeland at this time, and that he is very happy with life in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old joined Leicester City from French second division side Caen at the start of the 2015/2016 campaign, and the diminutive midfielders almost super human performances in central midfield were one of the key elements in the Foxes surprise EPL title triumph that season.
Chelsea then forked out £35 million to bring Kante to Stamford Bridge and he once again starred as the Blues lifted the Premier League trophy last season to cement his place as English football’s best defensive midfielder.
