France superstar Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he tried to convince his international team-mate N’Golo Kante to quit Chelsea and return to his hometown club, PSG.

Both players were part of the Les Blues side that won the World Cup this summer, and 19-year-old sensation Mbappe has revealed that he spoke to Kante about moving to the mega rich, Qatari owned, French Champions on behalf of the clubs President in Russia this summer.

“It is true that the president consulted me. My response was that N’Golo would do our team some good,” Mbappe said in quotes carried by the London Evening Standard.

“I spoke with N’Golo during the World Cup. I was careful to not overdo it, though, as transfers can flood your mind.

“In the end, I just put a few words in his pocket, which I am sure he must have discovered once he got home, to get the message across.”

Kante has established himself as one of Europe’s top defensive midfielders in recent seasons, with Chelsea said to be preparing a new and improved contract for the 27-year-old, as they look to ward off any interest from PSG.
