Form

Arsenal have made an underwhelming start to December and are winless in three games. Since losing to Manchester United, the Gunners have drawn with both Southampton and West Ham.

Newcastle are on a very poor run of form and have lost four of their last five games. They are currently 16th and need to start improving quickly if they are to avoid relegation.

Team News

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey will be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring injury. Theo Walcott remains sidelined with a groin injury. Shkodran Mustafi might be available following a thigh problem.

Newcastle will be without Aleksandar Mitrovic who misses out with a back injury but Paul Dummett returns.

Predicted Lineups

Arsenal: Cech; Koscielny, Mertesacker, Monreal; Bellerin, Xhaka, Wilshere, Kolasinac; Ozil, Sanchez, Lacazette

Newcastle: Darlow; Manquillo, Lascelles, Clark, Yedlin; Ritchie, Merino, Hayden, Murphy; Gayle, Joselu

Prediction

Both sides could really do with getting three points. It won’t be an easy game but I think Arsenal will beat Newcastle 2-0 and get back to winning ways.
