Mason Mount will undergo a medical at Manchester United on Monday ahead of the midfielder’s transfer to the club from Chelsea.
Chelsea have an accepted an offer worth £55m plus £5m in add-ons for the England international, who is out of contract next summer and keen on a move to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old has agreed terms on a five-year contract at Manchester United and Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Mount will undergo medical tests on Monday before the move is finalised.
The midfielder’s contract will run until June 2028 with the option of a further season, with Mount set to become Erik ten Hag’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
Mount’s arrival will be a major boost to the Red Devils after a frustrating transfer period so far, with the club’s uncertain takeover situation having impacted Ten Hag’s ability to operate in the market.
United are also keen to sign a centre-forward and goalkeeper before the window’s closure. Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is understood to be on the club’s radar to replace David de Gea in goal, with the latter now a free agent after his contract expired on July 1.
