Roberto Martinez reveals what ‘role model’ Eden Hazard gives to Chelsea

Eden Hazard’s quality on the field is clear for us all to see, but his international manager Roberto Martinez has revealed the unseen qualities that the Belgian brings to a side.

Hazard is one of, if not the best player that the Premier League has to offer right now, and despite him constantly being on the receiving end of some meaty challenges, he always picks himself up, and tries to beat his man again.

He has already found the back of the net seven times for Chelsea this season, as well as providing three assists, as the Blues maintain their record of being the only side in Europe’s top five leagues to remain unbeaten in all competitions this season.

Now, with the latest international break upon us, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has highlighted Hazard’s leadership qualities.

“He’s been a very good leader,” Martinez said.

“There are many different types of leaders but I think what Eden Hazard brings is someone you can get influenced by and who is an incredible source for younger players and who has been someone who can never, ever get affected by the pressure of the game or the pressure of the situation.

“And he enjoys his football and is always decisive for his play and a role model for all of us.”
