Martial reveals he’s ‘loving’ his time at Manchester United after signing new contract

Anthony Martial has revealed that he is loving his time at Manchester United after he signed a new long-term contract today.

The France international joined Manchester United from Monaco in September, in a deal that could eventually rise to £58 million.

Martial made himself an instant fan favourite at Old Trafford when he scored a superb solo goal against United’s bitter rivals Liverpool on his debut, and has won the FA Cup, Europa League and EFL Cup during his time with the Red Devils.

Until recently it looked like the 23-year-old’s future lay away from The Theatre of Dreams, with both the player and former United boss Jose Mourinho feeling he would be better off leaving the club.

United’s board held firm though believing in the talented youngster’s ability, and it now seems that Martial has had a change of heart after Mourinho’s exit, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer taking over as caretaker manager. Martial signed a five-and-a-half-year contract today and paid tribute to the Old Trafford faithful and his new manager Solskjaer.

“I am loving my time at this club. From the day I joined I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who continue to amaze me with their support,” Martial told the Manchester United website.

“I would like to thank Ole and his coaching staff for their belief in me and for helping me to take my game to the next level. This club is all about winning trophies and I am sure the next piece of silverware is not that far away.”
