Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has broken his silence by announcing he will resume his pre-season preparations in Manchester tomorrow.
The Frenchman left Manchester United’s pre-season training camp in Los Angeles last week to return to Paris for the birth of his second child.
He posted pictures on his social media of his new born baby, but failed to return to the USA to join back up with Jose Mourinho’s heavily depleted squad.
There has been speculation that Martial had gone AWOL, while other rumours suggested that he had been fined by his manager due to his absence.
United flew back to Manchester today after their 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the final game of their American tour, and speaking after the game, Jose Mourinho admitted he did not know when his number 11 would be returning.
However, the 22-year-old has taken to social media to explain his prolonged absence, saying that his partner had difficulties following the baby’s birth, and understandably, that his family comes first:
“Thank you all for your posts. My little Swan is fine, for the mom it was harder but thanks to God she’s better now,” he said on his Twitter account.
“Sorry but my family will always come first… Back tomorrow in Manchester”
Merci à tous pour vos messages. Mon petit Swan va bien, pour la maman ça était plus difficile mais Grâce à Dieu elle va mieux maintenant. Desolé mais ma famille passera toujours avant Tout… Retour demain à Manchester ????????

Martial apparently wants to leave Manchester United, with Spurs and Chelsea both interested. However United are reluctant to sell the talented winger to a Premier League rival, and would prefer to sell to foreign side, providing they meet their valuation which could be in excess of £80 million.
