The agent of Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has refused to commit his clients future to the club.
There doesn’t seem to be a single good news story coming out of Old Trafford lately, with every story seeming to be about Jose Mourinho, his latest fallouts with a player, and player unrest. Sadly for United fans, this story will hardly brighten your day.
Martial’s future has been subject to plenty of speculation since the arrival of Mourinho in 2016, who only used the Frenchman sparingly last season. He has been a more regular fixture in the United side this season where he has scored nine goals a produced five assists in his 29 Premier League appearances.
Despite becoming more of a first choice for United, the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January has put the 22-year-olds future back in jeopardy.
And now Martial’s representative Philippe Lamboley has said the 22-year-old is concentrating on finishing the season strong with United — but refused to commit his future to the club beyond this summer.
He told Il Bianconero: “Will [Martial] stay in Manchester in the summer? At the moment, I cannot say anything else about it.
“His goal is to win the FA Cup and to cement with Manchester United the second place in the Premier League.”
United have made it through to the FA Cup semi-finals where they will face Tottenham next month, with Martial playing for 90 minutes of last weekends quarter final.
