Chelsea left back Marcos Alonso has spoken about rumours linking him with a summer transfer to Barcelona.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to the La Liga giants after a stunning campaign in the Premier League with Chelsea which resulted in a Premier League title and next weeks FA Cup final.
The defender made a €27m move from Fiorentina last summer has flourished for the Blues this season, scoring six goals in 32 appearances. He is said to be aware that a move to his native Spain would boost his chances of making the World Cup squad for the 2018 tournament in Russia.
He is flattered by the links, but is only thinking about staying at Chelsea.
Speaking to Marca, Alonso said:
“It’s a compliment that a club like Barca are interested in you,”
“Last year, after a bad season on the collective level, we didn’t have those type of rumours.
“I am very happy here. I feel very valued by the club and I do not think of anything else.”
Chelsea won the Premier League by seven points and have a chance to secure a League and Cup double this weekend as they take on Arsenal in the Wembley showdown.
